About us

The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) is a model in research and knowledge transfer, with a recognized national and international track record. Our team of 3.459 researchers lead in fundraising for international research projects. In 2020, a total of 55 milion euros was invested in R&D&I projects .

Closer to our industry

All the knowledge acquired thanks to our projects, reverts directly to society through our graduate students and the research projects we conduct with companies and institutions. Every year, more than 1.700 projects are carried out with companies. Our research groups have established themselves as the innovative pillar of the national industrial fabric, and we continue to increase the number of projects and relationships with multinational and international companies. In 2020, 13 technology-based companies were created at the UPC and 25 technology patents were generated.
