Corrosion testing laboratory (CDAL)
The salt fog test chambers are designed to carry out accelerated corrosion tests by exposing samples to an artificial atmosphere: saline or saline-acetic.
Potentiodynamic tests are designed to make a scientific study of the corrosion phenomena (electrochemical test in a given environment).
Assess the corrosion resistance and durability of metal products and coatings subjected to accelerated conditions that simulate long-term behavior. Determine the mechanisms responsible for corrosion degradation processes.
Services it offers
- Obtaining coatings resistant to wear and/or rust
- Corrosion resistance of components analysis
Project with Welding Alloys España, S.A.
Challenge: The objective of the project has been to analyze the corrosion mechanisms of coatings obtained by HVOF thermal projection.
Solution: Comparative study of the corrosion resistance of different coatings obtained by high-speed thermal projection (HVOF). Evaluation of the effect of the elements present in the metal matrix on the corrosion resistance of metal-ceramic coatings (cermets)
Project with BlanchCristal S.A.
Challenge: The objective of the project has been to analyze the feasibility of anodizing components obtained by injection in a semi-solid state and their behavior against corrosion.
Solution: The products obtained by casting in a semi-solid state have been anodized both decoratively and hard showing a very good resistance to corrosion.
